The Whispers of Cats and Flowers: Joseph Jones

Cats and flowers are not merely subjects, but a poetic dialogue about the very act of looking. In this UK artist Joseph Jones’ first solo exhibition in Asia, delicate brushstrokes capture Hong Kong’s fleeting moments—blossoms spilling from balconies, cats lingering by shopfronts. Through a unique sanding technique, Jones creates a subtle tension between image and material on canvas. Each intimately scaled work stands as a tender witness to the fragility and resilience embedded in urban life.

Through the Looking-Glass: Jess Leung’s Dolly Land

Have you ever paused before a gachapon machine, heart fluttering with anticipation for the unknown? Or stood before a mirror, searching for a glimpse of your true self? “Dolly Land” is a meticulously crafted dreamscape by artist Leung Lai Man, Jess, where she uses the delicate brushstrokes of Gongbi painting to guide us across time to explore these very questions. Here, a Ming Dynasty peddler’s stall converses with a modern consignment shop; the opulent figures of Tang court ladies gaze upon their slender, contemporary counterparts. This exhibition is more than a visual feast—it is a journey into our collective memories and most intimate dreams, revealing how the objects and spaces that hold our hopes and define our identities act as a mirror, reflecting the soul of an era and the inner landscape of the individual.
