1 March 2023 in London, Sotheby’s two sales of Modern and Contemporary art achieved a combined total of £172.6 million / $208.2 million – an increase of 15% on Sotheby’s
equivalent sale last June. Nine Artist Records Set. Across the evening, 92% of the lots were sold.
紐約邦瀚斯於2023年1月24日舉行「Cohen & Cohen：中國外銷瓷器五十年」拍賣專場，呈獻此家聞名遐邇的古董商之中國外銷瓷器珍藏。逾150件18世紀中國瓷器拍品，涵蓋粉彩陳設賞瓶、中式大型彩瓷人物立像、罕有歐洲主題盤碟和瓷偶，以及康熙時期的素三彩與青花大盤，皆為上乘佳作。
On January 24, 2023 in New York, Bonhams presented Cohen & Cohen: 50 Years of Chinese Export Porcelain, a single-owner collection from the renowned gallery. Comprising of over 150 lots, the sale will primarily feature magnificent eighteenth-century Chinese porcelains including exceptional examples of famille rose jar garnitures, large ‘Chinese-taste’ enameled standing figures, rare ‘European-subject’ plates and figures, and massive Kangxi-period famille verte and blue and white dishes.

已故何鴻卿爵士（1930-2021年）憑著卓越的玉器收藏及慈善貢獻，在藝術界德高望重。然而何爵士對設計和品質方面精益求精的眼光並非人所共知，他在日常起居的倫敦大宅中建立的一系列私人收藏富饒而精緻，然有幸一睹風采之士寥寥可數。2022年秋季，蘇富比於一系列在倫敦及香港舉行的拍賣，陸續呈獻四百餘件何鴻卿爵士私人典藏。
The late Sir Joseph Hotung (1930-2021) was respected and revered in the art world for his Jade collection and for his philanthropy. What was much less known however was his discriminating eye for quality and design. His personal collection was beautifully displayed in his London residence yet seen only by a privileged few. In Autumn 2022, Sotheby’s offered over 400 works from Sir Joseph’s personal collection in a series of auctions in London and Hong Kong.

On July 14th, the London Sotheby’s European & British Art Sale officially ended with flying colors. It showcased the depth of artistic creativity across Britain and Europe during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The star of the sale is Harald Sohlberg’s 1911 watercolor Winter Night in the Mountains, this watercolor offered at Sotheby’s sold for GBP £1,346,000, against a pre-sale estimate of between GBP £800,000 and GBP £1,200,000.

On December 4th, Phillips, in association with Poly Auction, presented ’20th Century & Contemporary Art and Design’ Fall Sales. And through a combination of Day and Night Sale, it brought to the audience an array of important masterpieces from distinguished artists including Yoshitomo Nara, Basquiat, Yayoi Kusama, Zao Wou-Ki, Banksy and so on. The brand new live-streaming format, featuring dynamic camera angles and a virtual event experience, recorded the warm atmosphere at the seasonal sales. As a result, the sales successfully realized a sale of HK$508 Million in total, marking the highest ever total for a Modern and Contemporary Art Auction Series staged by both houses in Hong Kong.
