After 18 years away, Golden Horse Award winner Sinje Lee returns to Hong Kong with her debut solo exhibition, transforming beloved local desserts into circular artworks that celebrate the eternal child within us all.

Having lived in the city for seven transformative years, the actress-turned-artist reimagines Hong Kong’s cherished street foods through circular canvases that mirror both the roundness of traditional desserts and the completeness of childhood memories. The exhibition title “糖不甩” (sticky rice balls with peanut powder) becomes a powerful metaphor – just as the sweet coating can’t be shaken off, neither can the childlike wonder that resides eternally within us.

“Childtopia” marks Golden Horse Best Actress Sinje Lee’s first solo art exhibition in Hong Kong, featuring approximately 20 new circular paintings inspired by traditional local delicacies. The exhibition weaves together the artist’s cherished memories of living in Hong Kong with an enduring spirit of childlike wonder. After 18 years away, this showcase represents a warm homecoming and an emotional bridge to the city that shaped a significant chapter of her life. The Chinese title references a beloved Hong Kong dessert of glutinous rice balls coated in peanut sugar, much like the childlike innocence that clings to our hearts no matter our age.

1️⃣ 港式甜點化作童真畫作

《糖不甩》圓形畫作系列首次公開展出，約20幅作品均以港人熟悉的地道小吃為靈感。藝術家巧妙地將「菠蘿包」、「薑汁撞奶」、「碗仔翅」等經典甜品與街頭美食，轉化為充滿溫度的藝術創作。每一件作品背後都藏著李心潔對香港生活的熱愛，圓形構圖不僅象徵著團圓與完整的美好寓意，也與「糖不甩」圓潤的糯米球主題遙相呼應。

Local Treats as Portraits of Innocence

The “Childtopia” circular painting series makes its public debut with approximately 20 works inspired by familiar local snacks. Lee transforms classic delicacies like pineapple buns, ginger milk pudding, and imitation shark fin soup into emotionally resonant artworks. Each piece carries the warmth of her love for Hong Kong life, with circular compositions symbolising completeness and unity while echoing the round glutinous rice balls of the exhibition’s namesake dessert.

2️⃣ 跨越時空的情感載體

除了全新的《糖不甩》系列，展覽還呈獻4幅從台北個展《不止於靜 Beyond Silence》移展來港的大型作品，以及3件與家族相關的裝置及作品。其中最動人的是兩段音頻裝置：李心潔用家鄉福建話親自講述她與阿嫲的故事，阿嫲正是她拿起畫筆開始創作的契機；另一段則是她的兒子用粵語念著香港童年回憶經典廣告歌，跨越世代與地域的情感在此交織。

Bridges Across Time and Generation

Beyond the new “Childtopia” series, the exhibition features four large scale works from Lee’s Taipei showcase “Beyond Silence,” plus three family related installations. Most touching are two audio pieces: Lee speaking in her native Hokkien dialect about her grandmother, the inspiration behind her artistic journey, and her son reciting classic Hong Kong commercial jingles in Cantonese, weaving together generations and geographies through shared memory.

3️⃣ 一封寫給香港的情書

李心潔在展覽開幕之際特地撰寫了一封信給香港觀眾，深情回憶2001年至2007年在港生活的美好時光。從茶餐廳的A餐、灣仔的艇仔粥，到在銅鑼灣街頭聆聽大樹、數著「噠噠噠」的機器聲過人行道，這些日常點滴都成為她生命中不可磨滅的印記。離開香港18年後，她帶著這些深藏心底的回憶，透過《糖不甩》系列作品，將一份童真般真摯的愛送給這座城市。

A Love Letter to Hong Kong

For the exhibition opening, Lee penned a heartfelt letter to Hong Kong audiences, reminiscing about her life here from 2001 to 2007. From cha chaan teng set meals and Wan Chai congee to listening to trees in Causeway Bay and counting the “tap tap tap” of crossing signals, these everyday moments became indelible marks on her soul. After 18 years away, she returns with these treasured memories, offering the city a gift of childlike, genuine love through the “Childtopia” series.

4️⃣ 藝術與酒店的對話

是次展覽特別精選李心潔系列畫作兩幅，於酒店夥伴香港麗晶酒店大堂同步展出。這些充滿童趣與港式情懷的作品，與酒店致力融合傳統與現代的藝術視野相得益彰，讓更多觀眾得以透過李心潔的藝術創作，感受展覽所傳遞的純真初心與香港情懷。

An Elegant Dialogue with Hospitality

Two selected works from Lee’s series will be displayed simultaneously in the lobby of partner venue The Regent Hong Kong. These pieces, brimming with childlike wonder and local sentiment, complement the hotel’s commitment to blending traditional and contemporary artistic vision, allowing a wider audience to experience the exhibition’s message of pure hearted innocence and Hong Kong affection.

背景 BACKGROUND

🎬 李心潔於1976年生於馬來西亞，高中時受張艾嘉導演慧眼發掘，隻身從馬來西亞到台灣逐夢。先以歌手身分出道，隨後轉戰電影圈，初次擔綱主演的《愛你愛我》即奪得柏林影展最佳新演員獎。作為演員四度提名金馬獎，以《見鬼》摘下金馬獎與香港金像獎雙影后桂冠。2011年舉辦首次個展「吟Hum」，2023年舉辦「不止於靜 Beyond Silence」個展。首度出任監製的《富都青年》在第60屆金馬獎獲得七項提名及最佳男主角獎。

Sinje Lee was born in Malaysia in 1976. Discovered by director Sylvia Chang during high school, she moved to Taiwan to pursue her dreams. Starting as a singer, she transitioned to film and won Best New Performer at the Berlin Film Festival for her debut starring role in “Love You Love Me.” Nominated four times for Golden Horse Awards, she claimed double Best Actress honours at both the Golden Horse and Hong Kong Film Awards for “The Eye.” She held her first solo art exhibition “Hum” in 2011 and “Beyond Silence” in 2023. Her debut as producer on “Abang Adik” earned seven Golden Horse nominations including Best Director and won Best Actor at the 60th Golden Horse Awards.
