White Cube is delighted to present the first solo exhibition in Hong Kong of Lee Jin Woo, a Korean artist in Paris. Lee Jin Woo is well-versed in traditional Korean aesthetics. He views abstraction as a path to universality, aiming to bring viewers to a state of consciousness akin to meditation through his works. 再思光環:Kazy Chan的創意顛覆 | Rethinking Halos: The Creative Subversion of Kazy Chan

光環,一個象徵神聖的符號,通常被描繪成環繞神聖人物頭部的圓形或拱形光芒。然而,在香港藝術家Kazy Chan即將舉辦的個展《迴曲》中,這一符號被重新詮釋。Kazy通過對光環形象的扭曲重構,挑戰了那些常常抑制我們創造力和理解的固有觀念,期望觀眾能夠透過多種媒介的創作,重新審視他們對世界的看法。

A halo, a symbol of holiness, traditionally depicted as a circular or arched manifestation of light encircling the head of a revered figure. However, in the upcoming solo exhibition “The Twist of a Halo” by Hong Kong artist Kazy Chan, this symbol is reinterpreted. 去性別化後的英雄 | A DE-GENDERED HERO : ZE/RO

英雄,超群出眾、作出巨大貢獻的人,英文是: Hero,其中的「He」像是代表英雄就是男性的專利。牛津英語詞典為中性的第三方訂立了新詞彙「Ze」,令Hero以後或可叫做Zero,而英雄再無男女之別。布朗畫廊於7至8月在香港空間呈獻「Ze/Ro」展覽,說明女性如何從思想和身體體現自己在社會上的價值。

Hero refers to people who are outstanding or made a great contribution to the people. However, the “He” in the word seems to represent being hero is the privilege of male. Meanwhile, the Oxford English Dictionary has created a new word “Ze” to represent non-binary gender identities, making Hero a Zero. Ben Brown Fine Arts is presenting the “Ze/Ro” exhibition at the Hong Kong gallery from July to August, illustrates how women empower themselves and embody their value in society by means of their minds and bodies.

Since then, crowds flocked to the pier to take pictures for the Instagram. Therefore, the pier is named as the “Instagram Pier”as well but it was unfortunately closed earlier this year. Four years ago, Pierfrancesco Celada, who was living in Hong Kong, discovered the place and took nearly 30, 000 pictures of it.
