對韓國插畫家 soft.receipts 來說，每一張印著餐廳名字和消費金額的熱感應紙，都是畫布。用細細的代針筆、水彩毛筆和柔和的色鉛筆，把剛剛吃過的料理一筆一筆畫回收據的空白處——拉絲的披薩、焦香的燒肉、熱騰騰的湯麵，都在紙上重新活了過來。

Have you ever thought that a receipt you throw away after a meal could become a piece of art?

For South Korean illustrator soft.receipts, every thermal receipt printed with a restaurant’s name and total cost is a canvas. Using fine-liner pens, watercolour brush pens and soft colored pencils, the artist sketches the meal just eaten onto the blank spaces of the receipt — cheesy pizzas, crispy roasted meats, steaming bowls of noodles — all recreated on paper.

創作哲學很簡單：「美味時刻，值得留在收據上。」與其讓日常消費的紙張被丟棄，藝術家選擇在上面留下溫暖的視覺紀錄。每一幅畫都不只是畫，更是一則真實的味覺日記——記錄了光顧的餐廳、吃過的菜式，還有那一刻陪伴在身邊的人。

The creative philosophy is simple: “The delicious moments are worth keeping on a receipt.” Instead of letting these everyday slips fade or get thrown away, the artist transforms them into warm visual records. Each work is more than a drawing — it’s a genuine diary of taste, documenting the restaurant, the dishes, and the people who were there at that moment.

由於熱感應紙質地特殊，對熱度與濕氣敏感，創作時大多使用乾性媒材——代針筆和色鉛筆——避免墨水暈開或破壞紙張原有的紋理。 每一幅作品都保留著收據原有的印刷文字，與手繪圖像並置，形成一種有趣的對話：生活與藝術，就這樣在一張紙上相遇了。

Because thermal paper is delicate and heat-sensitive, the artist relies mostly on dry mediums — fine-liner pens and colored pencils — to avoid bleeding or damaging the paper’s texture. Each piece preserves the original printed text of the receipt, placed alongside hand-drawn illustrations, creating an intriguing dialogue: life and art, meeting on a single piece of paper.

創作過程從捕捉食物最美的一刻開始，繼而以鉛筆起稿，再用墨水筆填色及針筆勾勒細節。多層次的技法賦予作品強烈的立體感，彷彿食物的香氣能穿透紙背。

The creative process begins with capturing the most appetizing moment of the food, then sketching with pencil, followed by ink pens for coloring and fine liner pens for detailing. The multi-layered technique gives the work a strong sense of dimension, as if the aroma of the food could penetrate the paper.

這些作品不僅僅是插畫，更是一種生活練習。每一幅都蘊含著特定的時空背景——或是街角咖啡店的悠閒午後，或是與好友相聚的歡愉時刻。隨時間流逝，這些消費憑證昇華為生活的切片，提醒我們日常瑣碎亦值得用心珍藏。 作品邀請我們放慢腳步，好好看待每一餐、每一張紙、每一個容易被忽略的小細節。

These works are more than illustrations — they’re a practice in mindfulness. Each piece carries a specific moment in time — a leisurely afternoon at a corner café, a joyful gathering with friends. The artist invites us to slow down, to look closely at every meal, every slip of paper, every small detail we might easily overlook.

soft.receipts 的創作，折射出一個更大的趨勢——越來越多人開始在「非典型」的表面上創作。收據、標籤、包裝紙、票根⋯⋯這些原本用完即棄的紙張，正被重新賦予價值。這種創作方式的迷人之處，在於它的低門檻。你不需要昂貴的畫布，不需要專業的訓練，甚至不需要一張完整的紙。你只需要一支筆，和一張本來會被丟掉的收據。

soft.receipts’ work reflects a larger trend — more and more people are creating on “non-traditional” surfaces. Receipts, labels, packaging, ticket stubs… these papers, once used and discarded, are being given new value. What makes this practice so compelling is its low barrier to entry. You don’t need expensive canvases, formal training, or even a full sheet of paper. All you need is a pen — and a receipt that was about to be thrown away.

但它的意義不止於此。當我們在收據上畫下一餐飯，我們其實在做兩件事：一是為一個容易被遺忘的時刻留下見證，二是重新定義「什麼值得被保留」。一張收據原本只記錄了金額和日期，但經過手繪之後，它開始承載溫度——那家餐廳的燈光、那碗湯的熱氣、那個人坐在對面的樣子。在這個意義上，soft.receipts 的作品不是關於畫技，而是關於觀看的方式。它提醒我們：美不一定要在畫廊裡，也可以在生活的夾縫中。而藝術，不一定是專業人士的專利——它可以從一張被揉皺的收據開始。

But its significance goes beyond that. When we draw a meal on a receipt, we are doing two things: preserving a moment that might otherwise be forgotten, and redefining what deserves to be kept. A receipt originally only recorded an amount and a date. But after being illustrated, it begins to carry warmth — the lighting of that restaurant, the steam rising from that bowl of soup, the person sitting across the table. In this sense, soft.receipts’ work is not about technique. It’s about how we look at things. It reminds us that beauty doesn’t have to be in a gallery — it can be found in the margins of everyday life. And art doesn’t have to be the domain of professionals — it can start with a crumpled receipt.
