Beyond mere function, these exquisite teaware collections are designed to be lifelong companions; each piece is a silent witness to time, destined to develop its own unique patina and narrative in the caring palms of its owner.
WHY IT MATTERS
Seven years mark the moment when objects begin to tell their stories. For Touch, 2,555 days is a journey of cultivation, where values can only shine through the repeated trials of time; some sweetness can only be savored after a long excursion. Touch firmly believes that true teaware is a companion that withstands the test of time: nurturing a deeper luster with each tea ceremony, it gradually unfolds a unique rhythm of life in the hands that hold it.
Where Time Tells a Story
Since the founding, Touch has focused on accumulating those subtle yet steadfast beauties, beginning with an exhibition, a piece of art, or a kindred spirit, to gradually build a dialogue platform for contemporary teaware and ceramics. As Touch gently traces the milestone of their seventh anniversary, they are delighted to present nine talented ceramic artists from Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, each contributing a set of teaware worth a lifelong companionship. These pieces are a heartfelt tribute from Touch to every companion on this journey, embodying the serene strength bestowed upon them by time.
The Exhibiting Artists: Huang Ting Shian, Wu Wei Cheng, Zhang Xi Yuan
Huang Ting Shian presents a series of teaware that seamlessly combines white porcelain with gold accents, characterized by clean lines and a warm, smooth texture. Through refined forms and glazes, he embodies his aesthetic philosophy of “simplicity that contains multitudes.” Wu Wei Cheng, renowned as a “ceramic architect,” creates works that are both functional daily ceramics and refined spatial sculptures. Using clay as his building material and time as his blueprint, he constructs—piece by piece—a contemporary Eastern aesthetic for modern living. In an era obsessed with efficiency and mass production, Zhang Xi Yuan exudes the warmth of wood-fired pottery with an almost stubborn slowness and dedication, embodied through the warmth of wood firing and natural clay.

The Exhibiting Artists: Shiraiwa Taisuke, Manami Okayasu, Kumiko Yada
Shiraiwa Taisuke’s works are renowned for his wood-fired ash glaze works, born from a humble learning from nature and a heartfelt anticipation of the creative process. His teaware is not only functional but also a living entity imbued with the warmth of Hokkaido’s climate and the artist’s own emotions. Manami Okayasu’s pieces are distinguished by boldly saturated colors and meticulously arranged glaze frits, creating a strong visual rhythm. Each glaze frit is hand-crafted, gradually shifting in size to form textures that resemble organic growth. Kumiko Yada introduces a new collection of teaware featuring fresh, hand-painted on-glaze paintings that blend Eastern and Western pastoral styles. Through her distinctive compositions and contrasting glazes, she interprets her multidimensional reflections on time and nature.

The Exhibiting Artists: Kazunori Ohnaka, Takaya Fukuoka, Lau Yat Wai
Kazunori Ohnaka, an advocate of the beauty of impermanence, sees ceramic art as a silent ritual conducted in collaboration with time. He is the night watchman softly chanting poetry of the passing moments. Takaya Fukuoka infuses Japanese architectural aesthetics into teaware, presenting a completely new collection—from teapots and tea serving pots to tea trays and teacups—all structured with renewed vision yet deeply rooted in his signature architectural poetry. He shows us that even in a tea ceremony, one may encounter a landscape built from light and clay. Lau Yat Wai, who harmoniously blends opulence with exquisite craftsmanship, creates new pieces in white porcelain with gold accents, demonstrating his ability to merge natural poetry with contemporary craftsmanship. His works are an ode to time and a testament to artistry—silent yet steadfast narrators of eternal elegance in an age of rapid change.
