Most people are no stranger to cities, but to different people, the same corner contains different emotions and memories. Let us step into the world of Kamulch and recall stories in our life.

Kamulch has been sketching comics since high school, and later on he majored in Visual Design. He has been posting his art on Instagram since 2016, and has attracted around 375K followers. Most of his art is drawn with paper and pen, and a small portion of them are drawn with a drawing tablet.

Despite being a Korean, Kamulch’s works are not limited to Korea. He has recorded the sights in different cities with ink and paper of different sizes. Some of the cities he has drawn are Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Moreover, his work is not just limited to drawing city views, but also people. Not just that he wants to draw down the memories, but he also wants others to do so. Therefore, he has been providing assistance to people by teaching some sketching skills and giving them tips.

Most of Kamulch’s art used black and white as the main colour, and one of the most common themes is cityscape. Through the lines and various shades of black he displayed vivid sight of different buildings. No matter if it is historic buildings or modern buildings, they all become alive as the ink draws on the paper.

“I record fragments of emotion and memory through lines.”
This is a sentence from the About section of Kamulch’s Patreon. Even though it is a short sentence, it is able to convey how meaningful every piece he has created. Let us learn from his art and go on the journey of finding our own fragments.
