Beiqiqi, born in China in 1993, is an artist who has exhibited her work in various group shows and art fairs across different cities, including Seoul, Paris, Taiwan, Belgium, and Beijing. Her paintings feature a character named “the Cloud Girl”, who embodies the mask of the soul and travels through time and space, bringing fragments of memory to a surreal world. Despite the dark clouds that loom over her, the Cloud Girl heals her scars and impaired memories, growing bravely in her imagination and memory. Beiqiqi hopes to inspire others to come out of their clouds and live freely as themselves.
雲朵女孩的靈感來自於一部日本電視劇，劇中的女主角脫下面具，把頭髮梳成圓蓬式髮型，象徵著自我解放，脫離他人的期望，成為真正的自己。在北七七的繪畫中，圓蓬式的頭髮被表現成雲朵，代表一個人的內在自我和靈魂，帶來溫和的療癒和穩定。藝術家在雲層下尋求歸屬感和自我寬慰，並鼓勵人們接受變化和不確定性，以此獲得內心的平靜。
The Cloud Girl was inspired by the Japanese drama Elegance Ev, in which the heroine takes off her mask and wears her hair in an afro, symbolizing self-liberation, letting go of others’ expectation and becoming one’s true self. In Beiqiqi’s paintings, the afro hair is expressed as a cloud, representing one’s inner self and soul, and offering gentle healing and stability. The artist seeks a sense of belonging and self-forgiveness under the clouds and hopes that her work will encourage others to embrace change and uncertainty as a path to peace of mind.
北七七的繪畫作品色彩鮮麗，表現出多元的空間感，並喚起奇幻而明亮的希望。背景的厚實質感強調了雲朵女孩的力量，她不斷成為一個更柔軟、更有力量的角色。北七七認為改變是一件好事，而藝術創作是在眾多可能性中做出確定和不確定、幸福和不幸之間的選擇。不確定性其實是創新的推動力，這些隱喻的道理也圍繞著畫作，無限拓展觀眾的想像力。
Beiqiqi’s paintings feature vivid colors that express a diverse sense of space and evoke a fantastic and brilliant hope. The thick texture effect of the background emphasizes the power of the Cloud Girl, who continues to evolve into a softer and more powerful character. Beiqiqi believes that change is a good thing and that artistic creation is a choice between certainty and uncertainty, happiness and unhappiness, among many possibilities. Uncertainty could serve as a powerful catalyst for innovation, and the viewers’ imaginations are expanded by the symbolic narrative that revolve around the artwork.
