The exhibition “Jockey Club ‘How Memory Sticks’ Art Education Programme Objects: Play(Back) Exhibition”, is organized by Design and Cultural Studies Workshop, a renowned organization dedicating to the research and promotion of traditional Chinese culture as well as contemporary art and design, and sponsored by Jockey Club. From now till July 14, the exhibition will be held at Y Platform of Youth Square for about a month.
How many objects do you come across on an average day? A toothbrush, a mobile phone, bowls and chopsticks and the list go on – it’s hard to remember them all. Objects, however, have a powerful memory. Like a memory stick with great storage capacity, they record every mark of our day-to-day life, how we feel about nature, the ways we treat other people, our history and age-old traditions and culture. By playing back the five tracks of objects, namely “Rewind”, “Play”, “Fast-forward”, “Pause” and “Record”, we invite you to listen and learn from the stories of their times.
