The Mills “Old Textbooks – The Good Old Days”

Our society is made up of individuals from all walks of life. Yet, there is one thing that ties us all together: the old sayings of our city written in our textbooks from school days. Textbooks were like classmates whom we saw every day. Never would we, as students, thought about a day when textbooks would bring us fond memories of our time at school.

Organized by The Mills and the exhibition partner Old Textbooks, the “Old Textbooks: The Good Old Days” showcases old textbooks and school-related objects in the last decade. Through displaying these school materials from different generations, the exhibition aspires to stir reflections on how our values, culture and landscape have changed as our society moves through different stages. By flipping through and revisiting these nostalgic pages, we hope that it will bring back heartfelt stories from youth, and possibly, trigger a reunion of old friendships.
