背景 BACKGROUND—《小王子》The book The Little Prince

The Little Prince is a novella by French author and aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, first published in New York in 1943. The story follows a young prince from Asteroid B-612 who leaves his home and his beloved rose to travel across the universe. He visits six planets, encountering a king, a conceited man, a drunkard, a businessman, a lamplighter, and a geographer—each adult trapped in their own obsession, leaving him increasingly puzzled. Eventually, he arrives on Earth, where he meets a fox in the desert. The fox teaches him the most important lesson: “What is essential is invisible to the eye; only the heart can see clearly.” Through the innocent eyes of a child, the book reflects the emptiness and blindness of the adult world, while exploring themes of love, friendship, and responsibility. Translated into over 300 languages and with more than 140 million copies sold worldwide, it remains one of the best-selling books of all time.

“What is essential is invisible to the eye.” Before you enter, wake up the Little Prince inside your heart.
