《在色中》標誌着趙慧儀睽違11年再度回歸香港藝術中心舉行大型個展，呈現她藝術生涯轉折期最具代表性的創作。趙慧儀的創作脈絡在香港藝術史上具有重要價值：她自1981年起師從周綠雲，而周綠雲則師承「新水墨運動」開山祖師呂壽琨，代表了香港現代水墨的重要傳承譜系。藝術家選擇不打草稿、不預設色彩，以自發性筆觸追求極致自由，將新水墨運動從「形式革命」演進到「心靈解放」的成熟階段。
“In Colour” marks Zhao Huiyi’s return to the Hong Kong Arts Centre for a major solo exhibition after 11 years. Her artistic lineage holds significant value in Hong Kong art history: she studied under Zhou Luyun from 1981, who herself was a disciple of Lui Shou-kwan, the founding father of the New Ink Movement. The artist creates without drafts or preset colours, pursuing ultimate freedom through spontaneous brushwork, advancing the New Ink Movement from “formal revolution” to a mature stage of “spiritual liberation.”

《夢裏慈悲》系列源於趙慧儀的山西之旅，她將壁畫印象轉化為夢中的慈悲力量，期許自己能成為一束柔和的光，照亮他人的心靈。作品以溫潤的筆觸傳遞夢境中的慈悲能量，展現藝術家將周綠雲的鮮明色彩轉化為當代情感溫度的獨特語彙。
Mercy in Dreams
The “Mercy in Dreams” series draws from Zhao’s travels in Shanxi province, transforming mural impressions into compassionate power within dreams. The artist aspires to become a gentle light illuminating others’ hearts, using soft brushstrokes to convey the merciful energy of dreamscapes, showcasing her unique ability to transform Zhou Luyun’s vibrant colours into a contemporary emotional vocabulary.
2️⃣ 被困的視野
《被困的視野》創作於疫情期間，趙慧儀被困室內，透過窗戶觀察自由遊蕩的牛群。它探討在物理束縛中尋求心靈自由的可能，將對自由的渴望轉化為藝術創作，體現藝術在困境中的救贖力量。
Confined Vision
Created during the pandemic when Zhao was confined indoors, she observed freely roaming cattle through her window. “Confined Vision” explores the possibility of spiritual freedom within physical restraints, transforming longing for liberation into artistic creation, embodying art’s redemptive power amid adversity.
3️⃣ 山谷之家
《山谷之家》呈現一個由二十間長滿植物的小屋組成的夢想空間，邀請觀者思考在快節奏生活中如何回歸自然、尋求心靈的棲息之所。作品反映藝術家追求心靈解放的生活哲學，讓觀者在繁囂中尋得一處寧靜。
Valley Home
“Valley Home” presents a dreamscape composed of twenty small houses overgrown with plants, inviting viewers to contemplate how to return to nature and seek spiritual sanctuary amid fast-paced living. The work reflects the artist’s philosophy of pursuing spiritual liberation, offering viewers a place of tranquility amidst chaos.
4️⃣ 流動的天空
《流動的天空》透過切割與重組畫布並以不同高度懸掛，打破傳統紙本的二維限制。這是對生命流動的詮釋，提醒藝術家放下過去的留戀，期待美好的未來，讓作品在空間中自由呼吸。
Flowing Sky
“Flowing Sky” breaks through the two-dimensional limitations of traditional paper by cutting, reassembling, and suspending canvases at varying heights. This interpretation of life’s fluidity reminds the artist to let go of past attachments and anticipate a beautiful future, allowing works to breathe freely in space.
背景 BACKGROUND
🎨 趙慧儀生於香港，作品風格獨特，廣受國際關注。她自1981年起師從著名畫家周綠雲，承接了香港新水墨運動由呂壽琨到周綠雲的重要脈絡。曾獲邀參加摩納哥第十九屆當代藝術展，2023年獲香港政府文化體育及旅遊局頒發嘉許狀。其作品獲阿耶拉藝術館、亞洲發展銀行及多個公共機構收藏。
Zhao Huiyi was born in Hong Kong and is widely recognised for her distinctive artistic style. She has studied under renowned painter Zhou Luyun since 1981, inheriting the important lineage of Hong Kong’s New Ink Movement from Lui Shou-kwan to Zhou Luyun. She was invited to participate in Monaco’s 19th Contemporary Art Exhibition and received a Certificate of Commendation from Hong Kong’s Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau in 2023. Her works are collected by the Ayala Museum, Asian Development Bank, and numerous public institutions.
