Soluna Fine Art presents a blockbuster exhibition: “Urban Reveries” – Korea’s avant-garde art showcase! “Urban Reveries” is a sensory experiment that deconstructs the soul of the metropolis. This is no ordinary exhibition—it’s a psychedelic journey into the subconscious depths of Seoul. Four groundbreaking artistic mavericks—Choi Youngmin, Lee Ja-young, Park Jongho, and Yoon Dongcheon—use their creations to tear through urban facades, piercing straight to the tremors and yearnings deep within the modern psyche.

Why it matters
These artists masterfully blend Korean heritage with global contemporary discourse, employing immersive installations and interdisciplinary experiments to redefine viewer engagement. Their visually arresting works tackle urgent issues from identity politics to urban alienation, demonstrating both scholarly rigor and market appeal—with institutional acquisitions signaling their pivotal role in shaping East Asian art’s future trajectory.

4 highlights
- As the youngest professor in the Department of Painting at Seoul National University, Choi pioneered the distinctive “Sensory Abstractionism” style. His works employ layered mineral pigments to create “temporal paintings” that transform with shifting light. His theoretical proposition of “Post-Eastern Abstraction” has redefined the positioning of Korean contemporary art.

- Influenced by East Asian philosophy and Western deconstruction, Lee’s abstract ”Flow“ series captures life’s ephemerality through rhythmic brushstrokes that trace breath, emotion, and memory – making each painting a meditation on time’s passage.
- Park’s poignant figurative works center on society’s marginalized, laying bare the emotional landscapes of ordinary people. With remarkable sensitivity, he captures the isolating weight of urban existence—his subjects suspended between memory and reality, embodying the silent struggles of countless city dwellers chasing dreams beneath life’s burdens.

- Master of satirical wit and emotional nuance, Yoon’s boundary-pushing <Wisteria> series employs vine-like flowing lines to visualize the tangled layers of memory and human connection. The organic interplay of strokes and hues creates a pulsating visual poetry—each canvas a living ecosystem where personal recollections blossom through chromatic vibrations.
