1945年後,巴黎迎來了一段藝術復興時期,湧現出一批組織鬆散的非表象派畫家 抗衡紐約畫派及美國抽象表現主義,他們便是二戰後蜚聲國際的第二巴黎畫派。VILLEPIN現正舉行的畫展「來蘇之望」聚焦於其領軍人物的重要作品,旨於展現、紀念並不斷探究世界與藝術之間的關係,從而連接過去與現在以及此岸與彼岸,亦進一步提高公衆對第二巴黎畫派的關注。
After 1945, Paris enjoyed an artistic renaissance where a loose group of non-figurative artists emerged as a counterbalance to the New York School and American Abstract Expressionism. They were named the Second School of Paris, who became active following World War II in Europe. The exhibition “The Art of Hope” presented by Villepin showcases the works of some major artists, which seeks to exhibit, remember, and above all constantly question the relationship between the world and art, bringing together the past and present, the near and far.

二戰後,巴黎再度成爲全球文化中心,吸引了來自歐洲及世界各地的畫家,進而重塑了這座城市的標誌性藝術景觀。第二巴黎畫派涵括多位卓爾不凡且風格迥異的畫家,他們在 1944 年 8 月巴黎解放後漸露鋒芒,在塞納河沿岸期盼、建構及創造更美好的未來。
After WWII, Paris once again became a global cultural center and attracted painters from all over Europe and the world, who contributed to reshape the city’s iconic art scene. The gallery will present the works of an exceptional and diverse group of painters who created, built, and hoped for a brighter future on the banks of the Seine since the Liberation of Paris in August 1944.

近年舉行的多個重要展覽及回顧展,讓公衆得以重新認識第二巴黎畫派的重要性。是次畫展將展出維克多·布牢納、尼古拉·德·斯塔埃爾、讓·杜布菲、讓·弗特里埃、漢斯·哈同、拉迪斯拉斯·基依諾、喬治·馬修、讓-保羅·里奧佩爾、塞爾日·波利雅科夫、彼埃·蘇拉吉以及趙無極等名家之標誌性傑作。其中,趙無極正是畫廊於 3 月舉行揭幕展的主題。
Following major exhibitions and retrospectives that have allowed the public to rediscover the importance of the Second School of Paris, this exhibition will include works from emblematic artists such as Victor Brauner, Nicolas de Staël, Jean Dubuffet, Jean Fautrier, Hans Hartung, Ladislas Kinjo, Georges Mathieu, Jean Paul Riopelle, Serge Poliakoff, Pierre Soulages, and Zao Wou Ki whose work was the subject of the gallery s inaugural exhibition in March 2020.

是次畫展精心挑選了第二巴黎畫派在1940 至 2000 年代期間完成的作品。展覽旨於講述每一位藝術家的故事、了解他們之間的深厚關係;探索他們的相同經歷和共同面對的挑戰,究竟如何影響他們的思考、生活及創作模式,乃至對繪畫的追求,以及如何看待表象對抽象這一核心議題。
Through a selection of oil paintings created between the 1940s and the 2000s, the exhibition aims to tell the story of each artist, as well as explore the strong bond they shared as a group, from the common experiences and challenges they faced and how it impacted their way of thinking, living and creating, to the intensity of their pictorial quest with the central question of figuration and abstraction

是次畫展亦將展開與皮埃·波藍特色家具品牌的長期合作,其精選作品將在樓高三層的畫廊中陳列。 法國著名設計師皮埃·波藍於2009年與世長辭後,品牌由其遺孀愛麗絲及兒子本雅明接受,並持續推出限量版設計家具 ,籍以延續並拓展 已故大師的設計藝術。 皮埃·波藍向來以獨特的現代視野及極具雕塑性的室内設計著稱,曾與愛麗舍宮和盧浮宮合作,多年來飲譽全球。一系列精心挑選的家具作品將在VILLEPIN三層高的畫廊空間展出,結合藝術與可收藏設計理念,承載藝術遺產的精神。是次合作亦反映了VILLEPIN 對營造藝術欣賞的緊密空間,搭建收藏家與觀賞者之間富有意義的對話和交流抱有長期承諾。
Continuing Villepin’s founding conception as a quintessential French maison, last November also marked the gallery’s new long term collaboration with PAULIN PAULIN PAULIN, the family business managing the legacy of the famous French designer, Pierre Paulin. Today, Benjamin Paulin, the son of Pierre Paulin, and his wife Alice continue to promote and develop Pierre Paulin’s oeuvre through limited and rare editions of his iconic furniture and designs. Paulin is famous for both his innovative developments as well as for his work with the Mobilier National in the Elysée palace and the Louvre Museum in Paris, France. Selected pieces of Paulin furniture will be displayed throughout Villepin’s three story gallery space. Combining art and collectible design, and a celebration of legacy, this partnership further reflects Villepin’s ongoing commitment to creating an intimate space for art viewing and appreciation, as well as meaningful dialogue and exchange between collectors an d visitors.
