香港標誌,過去與現在對話|The Hong Kong Icon, A Conversion With the Past

過去與現在不是兩個點,而是一條線。過去與現在的交流,不只僅於教科書;許多香港藝術家對香港的過去,現在,與未來充滿這嚮往與想像。在一件過去的藏品身上,在創作者眼裡是一個又一個的故事;在香港藝術館展出的《原典變奏——香港視點》,14位香港藝術家共展出了14件精選館藏,各以現代的方式回應了過去香港不同的面貌。

Past and present, they are not two points, but lie on a line. The communication between the past and the present should be limited to textbooks. Many local Hong Kong artists are extremely curious and creative about the past, the present, and the future of Hong Kong. The exhibition “Classic Remix: The Hong Kong Viewpoint” at HKMOA included 14 collections of 14 Hong Kong artists, responding to different sides of the old Hong Kong with different modern ways. 

香港藝術館至2020年10月11日的展覽《原典變奏——香港視點》,帶來了14位香港藝術家的作品,包括羅浩光、林東鵬、李慧嫻、郭孟浩(蛙王)、黃宏達、甘志強、江啟明、朱興華、黃琮瑜、黃麗貞、徐沛之、管偉邦。其中有裝置藝術與平面創作;每一件作品都與另一個的展覽《小題大作——香港藝術館的故事》中的作品相呼應。

Artists that participated in this exhibition includes Chu Hing-wah, Chui Pui-chee, Fung Wingkee (Raymond), Kong Kai-ming, Koon Wai-bong, Kum, Chi-keung, Kwok Mang-ho (Frog King), Lam Tung-pang, Bo Law, Li Wei-han (Rosanna), Wan Lai-kuen (Annie), Wong Chung-yu, Wong Lai-ching (Fiona), and Victor Wong. The collection includes installations and graphic creation; each piece correspond to an exhibits from another exhibition at HKMOA “Ordinary to Extraordinary: Stories of the Museum”.

一些展品亦與展館的維多利亞港的景色相融合,例如馮永基的裝置藝術《我與吳冠中對話》,利用一塊塊從舊建築拆下的瓦片所砌出的燕子,呼應吳冠中的作品《雙燕》;反覆的格局,巧妙的以維多利亞港的景色作背景,猶如一幅現代的山水畫;與展覽主題相呼應。

The exhibits would also interact with the victoria harbour view, into an extraordinary scene. Fung Wing-kee’s exhibit “A dialogue with Wu Guanzhong”, utilised pieces of tiles that are upcycled from old buildings, into patterns of swallows, responding to Wu Guanzhong’s Chinese painting “Two swallows”. The repetitive pattern of tiles, with the victoria harbour view as the background, creating a modern interactive landscape painting.

亦有一些作品以香港的景色為作畫主題,記錄了香港不同時期的倩影。江啟明展出了一系列21幅的鉛筆素描《講古港故》,描繪了由鄉村,到城市的香港面貌,記錄了香港一路以來更變的景觀。除了江啟明的作品之外,朱興華的作品《美妙香江》,以傳統水墨畫和懸掛式的畫布,營造了層次感和生動的戲曲舞台。「舞台」上有一個個現代人生活的剪影,與背景的大廈外牆圖案,朱興華所創作的是一個香港人的舞台,反映了香港的建築風格與生活模式。

There are also works that use the Hong Kong sceneries as the subject, recording the beauty of Hong Kong of different periods. Kong Kai-ming exhibited a series of pencil sketches of the natural landscape and cityscape of Hong Kong over a decade. Besides Kong Kai-ming’s works, Chu Hing-wah’s “HONG KONG HONG KONG” also created a Xiqu (Chinese Theatre) stage of Hong Kong life; he created multiple paintings with Chinese ink, and installed them into layers of scenes. On the stage, there are silhouettes of busy living people of the modern times, in front of patterns of skyscrapers in Hong Kong, reflecting the typical building and lifestyles of Hong Kong.

近年來,香港的「打卡」風氣盛行,《原典變奏》中管偉邦的裝置藝術作品《爽氣入竹林》受到許多年輕一代的喜愛,以經常能在社交媒體上看見它的蹤影。管偉邦利用精細的傳統中國繪畫,將充滿竹影的絹條懸掛,像一片神秘又清爽的竹林。

Recently, photos of visiting exhibits are extremely popular on social media platforms, among exhibits at the “Classic Remix” exhibition, Kong Wai-bong’s installation art work “Crisp air in a bamboo grove” is particularly popular on social media platforms. He utilised the delicate style of Chinese painting of dense grove of bamboo on long strips of silk, and installed them hanging and swaying in the breeze, like a mysterious and refreshing bamboo forest.
