繼村上隆與Virgil Abloh在高古軒倫敦及高古軒巴黎舉行的聯展取得重大成功後，村上隆即將載譽而歸，於2018年9月20日在高古軒香港舉辦其個展《改變規則！》。是次呈獻的油畫及雕塑均為全新創作，並將在展覽中首次公開亮相，當中包括一幅來自村上隆「羅漢」（Arhats）系列的大型油畫作品。自六年前在高古軒香港舉行個展後，村上隆的創作持續演化，他從多方面汲取了豐富的靈感，包括日本傳統繪畫、御宅亞文化、西方藝術理論、荷李活電影以及嘻哈文化。他廣泛的創作不僅僅局限於藝術世界，更涉獵至時裝、電影、高端及日常的商業產品領域，消除了高雅藝術與流行文化之間的鴻溝。
Following the hugely successful Takashi Murakami & Virgil Abloh exhibitions at Gagosian London and Gagosian Paris, Takashi Murakami’s solo exhibition, Change the Rule! will open on 20 September 2018 at Gagosian Hong Kong. All paintings and sculptures in the exhibition are newly-produced and will be seen for the very first time, including a monumental painting from Murakami’s Arhats series. Since his last solo exhibition at Gagosian Hong Kong six years ago, Murakami’s work has continued to evolve dramatically, drawing from sources as diverse as traditional Japanese painting, otaku subculture, Western art theory, Hollywood cinema, and hip-hop. His expansive art production has spilled not only into the art world but also into fashion, film, and commercial commodities both luxurious and cheap, erasing entrenched divisions between high art and popular culture.
