《一線之間：香港新素描》現於Sun Museum 一新美術館展出，呈獻14位香港藝術家的多元風格作品。他們將素描糅合其他技巧，凸顯個人特色及藝術思維，展現香港素描一番新景象。
素描是繪畫的基礎，可惜作為藝術媒介，卻一直以來未受重視。當今中國繪畫的白描法已成一門獨立藝術，而西方的素描法亦大大提升了地位，更成為藝術收藏品。可惜素描甚少見於香港畫展，一新美術館是次邀請14位香港畫家，包括廖井梅、徐淵、朱達誠、沈平、侯紹政、何少中、林鳴崗、曾大毛、謝政、卓曉光、潘躍輝、姚柱東、胡浚諺及呂華，向觀眾展示他們對素描的體驗和成就。展出作品共五十六件，兼見寫實與寫意，風格迥異，各有趣味。
Maybe you will have some misunderstandings about sketches. You may believe that sketching is an introductory technique for painting, so it has no artistic value. Sun Museum is presenting an exhibition of “Hong Kong Modern Sketches”. On display are 56 sketch works showing how fourteen local artists apply traditional and innovative approaches to the depiction of forms with simple lines and colours.
It is often said that sketching is the foundation of painting. However, as a common medium in the artistic scene, little attention has been given to it. Today, Chinese traditional line drawing has been recognised as an independent art form. However, sketches are not popularly exhibited in Hong Kong. Hence this exhibition is organised to promote the new trends of sketching. The participating artists are from various age groups. They are LIU Cheng Mui, TSUI Yuen, ZHU Da Cheng, SHEN Ping HAU Siu Ching, HO Siu Chung Alex, LAM Man Kong, ZENG Da Mao, TSE Ching, CHEUK Hiu Kwong, POON Yeuk Fai, YIU Chu Tung, WU Chun Yin Aries and LUI Wa. These artists have developed simply drawings into a fascinating art form which can proficiently express both external forms and internal feelings.
