“Breathe In ‧ Breathe Out” Visual Art Exhibition presented by KC100 Art Space depicts the simple yet significant moments in our life, in which KC100 invites 10 local artists to record the moments that we miss out, we lost in the hustling life, expressing how they reminisce those moments through art.
Featured artists re-define their own meanings of “breath in, breathe out” by transforming everyday objects into art through various mediums such as three-dimensional sculpture, photography, ceramics and mixed media, creating a strong connection with our ordinary life. For instance, Lee Wai Chi and May Loo express how the working class undertake immersive pressure through mixed media and ceramics respectively while Henry Lee’s experimental artwork aims to increase public environmental awareness. Carol Lee’s photography wall and palette as a reflection of the ups and downs, motivating the visitor to find their own orientations in their life. Frank Lam’s metal wire sculptures offer an unconventional perspective on reviewing the meaning of birth and death.
Perhaps we are too dedicated to catching up with the fast-paced life for the sake of pursuing and we forget the initiative aspiration. “Breathe In ‧ Breathe Out” reminds us to take a rest from the hustling life, to reflect on moments or things that we neglecte and undervalue. Now, it is time to modulate the beat of breath and rethink what we really live for.
