香港藝術學院（Hong Kong Art School）其下的藝術高級文憑課程(Higher Diploma in Fine Art – HDFA) 畢業展2018 展出超過30多位畢業生的作品，涵蓋陶藝、繪畫、攝影及雕塑4個範疇。畢業展共有4層展覽空間，校舍地下展出雕塑及攝影作品，一樓配有戶外空間展出同學的陶藝作品和其裝置藝術，二樓至三樓課室則展出繪畫作品。全部作品皆附上同學的觀察及資料搜集筆記，以模型、素描等素材詳盡解釋每份作品的意念和構思。
畢業展以「Vision見」為主題，所指是「觀察」與「見解」，每種藝術媒介皆是不同的藝術表達方式和語言，創作者觀察事物方法、角度及理解亦隨之不同，畢業生以是次展覽分享他們如何觀察日常，表達他們各自經歷中累積成的「見」，藉著藝術分享所見、尋找釋放自己的出口。不少同學的創作靈感皆源自日常的所見所聞，以情感、成長、社會、以至自然美學為題材，例如葉穎藍的畫作《聯繫》訴說父女牽絆，雷凱樂的畫作《虛擬與現實》探索電子遊戲中的自我、劉穎琳的陶藝作品《銷售》以樓盤模型、錄音和銷售書等道具諷刺社會的置業問題。
Hong Kong Art School Higher Diploma in Fine Art (HDFA) Graduation Showcase 2018 features the artwork from over 30 graduates, involving ceramics, painting, photography and sculpture. The exhibition on the ground floor displays photography and large-scale sculpture artworks while ceramic installations are showcased on the first-floor, and the paintings are displayed on the second floor and rooftop studio. All artworks are exhibited with detailed proposals, research notes and props to explain, demonstrate the ideas and creation process.
The main theme “Vision” means observation and perspective. Different mediums represent different ways of expression and languages, creators’ perspectives and understanding vary with their experience and the ways they observe. Through the graduation showcase, the graduates share how they observe mundane life and seek to release themselves. Their artworks cover a wide variety of themes such as affection, growth, society and the beauty of nature. For example, Yip Wing Laam’s painting “Relationship” illustrates the bonding between father and daughter; Lui Hoi Lok’s painting “It belongs to THEIR story” is inspired by electronic games, exploring the ego in the virtual world. Lau Wing Lam’s ceramic artworks “Sale” satirizes the housing problem with mixed media, including sound recording, purchase agreement document and a ceramic model of an apartment.
