古今中外，從莊子的《逍遙遊》到喬治・奧威爾的《動物農莊》，人類與動物的關係一直為文化與精神的象徵。以「非人」視覺看世界、看生活，會有可能產生怎樣的體驗？

Past and present, from Zhuangzi’s classic Enjoyment in Untroubled Ease to George Orwell’s contemporary Animal Farm, the relationship between humans and animals has always symbolised culture and spirit. What could it possibly be like to see the world — see life — from a vision beyond that of ours?

推介原因 WHY IT MATTERS

「@N1MALX：非人生活」展覽邀得石家豪、楊學德、黃進曦、徐沛之、林海峰、內田望（Nozomu Uchida）等多位香港及海外藝術家聯袂參與，以動物為靈感，從記憶、神話、流行文化等多個角度反思人類與其他物種的共存關係，重新審視我們以人類為中心的世界。大部份作品皆為本次展覽定制創作，首次亮相，定能為觀眾帶來一次啟發視野的藝術體驗。

Featuring both local and international talents, including Wilson Shieh, Yeung Hok Tak, Stephen Wong, Chui Pui Chee, Jan Lamb and Nozomu Uchida, @N1MALX: Non-Human Life reflects on the role of humans in our anthropocentric world through a compelling collection of animal-inspired works drawn from memory, mythology, pop culture and more. Many works have been created exclusively for the show, which inspires audiences to see the world and their role in it in an entirely new light.

重點一覽 HIGHLIGHTS

1️⃣ 石家豪的《黃龍舢舨》把英國樂隊披頭四的姿態與中國民間風俗結合起來，巧妙地重新演繹了藝術家曾在電影院看過該樂隊的《黄色潛艇》動畫。原來，披頭四於 1964 年曾到香港演唱；及至 1977 年，約翰藍儂又到過虎豹別墅參觀，在中國民間仙佛彩塑前留影。作品既屬於藝術家的個人回憶，也代表了香港社會對披頭四深刻的印象。

Wilson Shieh’s Yellow Dragon Sampan combines the essence of the British band The Beatles with elements of Chinese folk customs, artfully reinterpreting the band’s animated film Yellow Submarine, which the artist saw in a theatre. It turns out that The Beatles had performed in Hong Kong in 1964; in 1977, John Lennon also toured the Haw Par Mansion and took photos in front of the traditional Chinese folk sculptures. The work is not only a personal memory of its creator, but it also represents the deeply felt impression of The Beatles on Hong Kong society.

2️⃣ 在黃進㬢的《信仰的力量》中，兩位小朋友面對着棕熊的威脅，把恐龍戰隊中的霸王龍玩具用射燈放大其投影在巨石上，令棕熊退卻。藝術家以小時候愛看日本的特攝片和卡通片為靈感，對如幻似真的動物力量進行反思，表達出一種向神話、自然世界與想像力的敬佩之餘，更是充滿童趣。在人類的渺小和自大之間，小朋友選擇了相信霸王龍，讓霸王龍保護他們。

In Stephen Wong’s The Power of Faith, two children faced with the threat of a brown bear project the image of a Tyrannosaurus toy from Power Rangers Dino Thunder [Bakuryū Sentai Abaranger] onto a large rock using a flashlight, causing the bear to retreat. Inspired by his favourite Japanese Tokusatsu and animated series from childhood, the artist reflects on the surreal power of animals, showing respect to legends, the natural world and imagination. Between the insignificance and arrogance of humans, these children choose to believe in the Tyrannosaurus and let it be their protector.

3️⃣ 徐沛之的《博山爐》取材自其海上仙山的傳說，寓意雲氣通天達地。展出共有兩款漢代的博山爐，分別為鎏金銀竹節銅薰爐和朱雀博山香爐。前者造工精巧，九條蟠龍活靈活現，線條流暢、型體奇妙。後者蓋頂立一朱雀，配以輕煙聚散、靈動、朦朧，彷彿傳來一陣陣清心寧神的香氣。

Chui Pui Chee’s Boshan Censer references the legend that it resembles a celestial mountain on the sea with clouds rising to the heaven, symbolising a connection between heaven and earth. Two censers from the Han dynasty are exhibited, being a gilded silver bamboo-joint incense burner and a Phoenix Boshan Censer respectively. The former censer, exquisitely crafted with nine vividly coiled dragons, showcases smooth lines and fantastic forms. On the latter stands a Phoenix, under which cloud patterns seem to fill the scene with a calming scent.

4️⃣ 林海峰通過《動物友善》一作，幽默地諷刺動物主題藝術展覽限制攜帶寵物進入的規定。綽號「林狗」的他，自嘲為「小學雞」班的「低 B」組參賽者，以木顏色描繪出一張「邦瀚斯香港 2025 年度藝術與動物填色比賽」的工作紙，內容則是一隻小狗在用顏色筆畫畫，具有相當的自指趣味。林氏「希望大家透過提問、思考、對話，在參觀前先想想這些問題，然後帶著自己的想法來展覽中尋找答案。」

Through his work, Animal-friendly, Jan Lamb humorously satirises the restrictions against bringing pets into an upcoming animal-themed art exhibition. Nicknamed “Lambdog”, he deprecates himself as a contestant of the “Lower B” group from Class “Primary School Chicken”, using colour pencils to draw a worksheet titled “Bonhams Hong Kong 2025 Art and Animal Colouring Competition”. The content itself? A puppy drawing with colour pencils, further emphasising the self-referential humour. Lamb encourages “everyone to engage in questioning, reflection, and dialogue before attending, considering these questions and bringing their thoughts to the exhibition in search of answers.”
