山川はるか於1993年出生於東京,畢業於多摩美術大學平面設計系,曾於廣告製作公司任職,後成為自由插畫家。近年以「超級市場」為主題創作繪畫與陶藝作品。

Haruka Yamakawa was born in Tokyo in 1993. Having graduated from Tama Art University’s Graphic Design Department, she worked at an advertising production company before becoming a freelance illustrator.

疫情期間,當普通人忙著囤廁紙時,山川はるか卻在加拿大超市裡發現新大陸。每週一次的採購成了她的「尋寶遊戲」——膨化食品的包裝是現成的朋克頭套,冷凍櫃的霧氣藏著愛情故事。她說:”在末日感瀰漫的日子里,超市是最有人情味的劇場。

During pandemics, while others hoarded toilet paper, Yamakawa went treasure hunting in Canadian supermarkets. “Those weekly grocery runs felt like the last alive places,” she recalls. Frozen food sections became stages for human dramas, and chip bags – readymade superhero masks.
