Plastic Thing, a renowned illustrator from Hong Kong, made a bold decision after graduation to become a full-time illustrator, focusing on Hong Kong’s “plastic” culture. This thematic choice quickly garnered her a substantial following among young enthusiasts. Since launching her page in 2013, Plastic Thing has attracted over 400,000 fans, underscoring the broad appeal of her artworks. From a young age, Plastic Thing harboured a deep passion for painting, supported by her family and various professional training opportunities. Her mother joined her in painting sessions and ensured she attended painting classes, providing a robust foundation for her skills. Despite considering herself not a naturally gifted painter, Plastic Thing’s love for art surpasses natural talent limitations.

在香港浸會大學視覺藝術系深造期間，葉欣進一步磨練了自己的畫畫技巧。雖然她坦言自己不是一個自信的人，對於公開分享自己的畫作感到害怕，但在校期間，著名政治漫畫家黃照達的鼓勵成為了她開設專頁「Plastic Thing」的轉折點。

During her time in the Visual Arts Department at Hong Kong Baptist University, Plastic Thing further refined her painting skills. Although she confesses to not being confident and initially feared public sharing of her artworks, the encouragement from renowned political cartoonist Wong Chiu Tat during her university years marked a pivotal moment, leading her to launch her page, “Plastic Thing.”
