COLLECTING TIPS FROM PORCELAIN EXPERT WILLIAM CHAK

The art dealer and porcelain expert William Chak has been interested in the porcelain bowls, plates, and bottles since cleaning porcelain in an antique shop as a teenager. He started his own antique shop afterwards. At the age of 43, he went to study in Peking University, before further studying in the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Forbidden City and so on. Throughout the years, his passion for porcelain never change. Precisely because of his expertise and working ethics, Beijing TV Station invited him to be the chief connoisseur of “World Collection”, Phoenix TV hired him as an advisor, and Chinese Academy of Social Sciences asked him to be a distinguished professor. He is also the founder of the International Antiques Fair just held in May. What is more inspiring is that, in addition to the professional activities, Chak is also active in the public domain, striving to spread the liable knowledge about the collection through social media and answering questions for the general collectors. This time, HK ARTION was honoured to have invited William Chak to share his insights and tips on porcelain connoisseurship.
