在2020年，因為我們面臨著很多挑戰，所以「團結」變得非常重要，大華銀行希望鼓勵藝術家們在他們的作品中表達自己克服新冠肺炎相關挑戰的感受和體會。這亦是大華銀行選擇「團結」作為今年頒獎的主題的原因。

‘Solidarity’ is ultimately important in the year of 2020 as we are facing lots of challenges, the UOB hoped to encourage artists to show their feelings and COVID-19-related challenges in their artworks. That is why the UOB has selected ‘Solidarity’ to be the theme of this year’s Awards. 

大華銀行大中華區行政總裁葉楊詩明女士說：「大華銀行一直支持藝術發展，並致力在我們營運所在的社區推廣藝術。我們深信藝術連繫生活，亦能夠為我們拓展視野和啟發思維。在這艱難時刻，團結精神顯得無比重要，我們必須保持堅毅不拔的精神，同心協力，共度時艱。因此，我們鼓勵本地藝術人才藉此信念發揮創意，透過水墨藝術分享他們的所思所想，為社區帶來一些啟發。」

With this hope, we encourage local artistic talents to unleash their creativity and share their perspectives through ink art to inspire the wider community.”

「2020 年大華銀行年度水墨藝術大獎」歡迎年滿九歲或以上的香港居民參加，費用全免。參賽作品將由知名水墨藝術家、藝術學者、藝評家以及其他藝術界專業人士組成的獨立評審團進行評選。評審團會根據作品的創作概念﹑原創性﹑技巧﹑質素﹑對水墨藝術的詮釋，以及參賽者的整體能力作出評分。

The 2020 UOB Art in Ink Awards is open to Hong Kong residents aged nine or above. Participation is. free of charge. Entries will be assessed and selected by an independent panel of judges comprising professional ink artists, art academics, art critics and other art specialists. The judges will be looking for artworks that showcase creativity, originality, technique, quality of work, the interpretation of ink art and the artist’s overall ability.

得獎者除了獲得總值超過港幣$300,000 的豐富獎品外，其得獎作品亦有機會於不同場合展出，向廣大市民展現其藝術才華。評審團將於公開組的金獎得獎者中，挑選一位成「大華銀行年度最佳水墨藝術作品」的優勝者。該名優勝者將獲全額資助到海外體驗藝術家駐村計劃。而「最具潛質藝術家」的得獎者，將獲得由著名水墨藝術家親自教授的水墨藝術課程。

Winners will receive cash prizes worth more than HK$300,000 in total and opportunities to showcase their winning artworks to the wider community. The winner of the UOB Ink Art of the Year Award, which will be selected among the gold award winners in the open category, will also be eligible for an overseas art residency. The winner of the Most Promising Artist of the Year Award will receive a bespoke ink art course to be conducted by a renowned ink artist.
