《曙光》是四川藝術家邱世華的最新個展，展出1990年代至2018年的作品，回溯他由繪畫壯闊浩大的沙漠風景到描繪神秘靜謐的大漠仙境、叢林疊嶂的變化。邱世華曾在中國西北居住超過二十年，與宏偉的黃土高原及沙漠風景為伴，信奉道家思想的他每日堅持冥想及道家繪畫練習，練習如何捕捉光線、如何於內心構圖，展覽內的畫作亦是他修煉成果，使觀者重溫他心中建構的仙境。

邱世華在沙漠中尋見曙光，於畫中尋找生命裡「神」和「氣」的運行與交流，細膩的筆觸需要細膩平靜的心才能窺見，深邃的景物自然從靜觀中浮現，畫面輪廓、筆觸色澤漸漸清晰。邱世華的畫作著重的不是手法與主題，而是觀看的心境。油畫中可見的不是令人嘩然驚奇的華麗景致，而是他在靜心之中、在萬物之始看見平淡而純淨的意境。

The artworks in Qiu Shihua’s latest exhibition “Dawn Light” disclose the transition of his style, covering from the magnificent desert scenery in 1990s to the mysterious but peaceful landscape in 2018. He had lived in northwest China for over 20 years, accompanied by the majestic desert and open pastures. Qiu’s daily practice of meditation and Daoist painting train his sensitivity to capture light, to constitute components in his mind, and the paintings draw the views into his fairyland.

Qiu Shihua pursues his oasis of art through seeking the rhythm of spirit and energy in the dawn light. Quietude is the essence of appreciation particular to his art, the picture and the details gradually float into view only if the mind is peaceful and relaxed enough. Qiu Shihua’s paintings put emphasis on the ‘mood’ of painting itself and the mode of perception. rather than the mediums or subjects. His paintings do not aim to depict magnificent scenery to amaze the viewers, but to reveal the calmness and clearness in the quiet mind and the essence of nature.
