Sittiphon Lochaisong (a.k.a BOMB)等。
Hong Kong Opera Gallery unveils a new group exhibition end September that celebrates the history and heritage of Asian art. Through abstract art, the exhibition launches a dialogue that interlinks the past and present, traditional and modern designs, and Eastern and Western influences. Featured artists include Chinese-French artists, Zao Wou-Ki, Chu Teh-Chun and Feng Xiao-Min, Korean Contemporary artists Bahk Seon-Ghi, Suh Jeong-Min and Om Mee-Ai, Iranian contemporary artists Golnaz Fathi, Mohammad Ehsai and Mohammad Mahdi Yaghoubian, Thailand artist Sittiphon Lochaisong’s Studio (a.k.a BOMB).
Created through time-honored practices of traditional Asian art, each piece reflects the artist’s diverse cultural background and experiences abroad. With specialized skills in ancient Middle Eastern calligraphy, traditional Chinese ink wash painting, and Korean scroll painting and papermaking, the exhibition showcases artwork that have been crafted using painstaking attention, effort and time. “Asia Abstract” boasts a collection that fuses traditional methods with modern techniques. Conceptualized by the innovative artists, modern techniques reflect the artists’ state of mind and effectively address the themes of national identity, nature and humanity.
