卓家慧的當代工筆藝術 | CONTEMPORARY GONGBI ART BY CHERIE CHEUK

工筆畫是中國傳統繪畫技法,著重細緻的描寫和設色。卓家慧作為本地新一代工筆畫畫家,嘗試以古典畫法結合現代題材,擴闊人們對工筆畫的想像。位處鄉郊的工作室加深了她對世界的感知,為作品增添了濃濃的大自然氣息。

卓家慧1989年出生於香港。2012年取得香港中文大學文學士學位,主修藝術;2017年於同校的藝術碩士課程畢業,主修工筆畫創作。主題圍繞記憶、時間、自然、宇宙規律、情感與思緒狀態 。同時也在思考工筆畫歷經北宋時期的高峰後,發展至今,要如何帶著傳統之美進入當代世界 。她的畫作曾於多個重要的水墨展覽中展出,包括2017年的「全球水墨畫大展」、2015和2016年的「水墨藝博」、2015年的「而立:香港年輕藝術家作品展」和2013年的 「香港工筆畫會聯展」。

Gongbi is a classical Chinese painting style, emphasizing the precision of details and use of colors. As a new-generation local Gongbi artist, Cherie Cheuk attempts to weave modern themes into traditional art forms, opening up audience’s imagination towards Gongi painting. Setting up a studio in a suburban location deepens her perception of the world, which eventually inspires her to create nature-themed artwork.

Cherie Cheuk was born in Hong Kong in 1989. In 2012, Cheuk graduated with a Fine Art degree in Chinese University of Hong Kong. In 2017, Cheuk completed her Master’s degree in CUHK, specializing in Chinese Gongbi painting. Subject matters mainly revolve around memory, time, nature, laws of universe, emotions and thoughts. Her artwork also interrogates the development of Gongbi after it reached its peak in Northern Song Dynasty, namely how to rejuvenate this traditional Chinese art form in the contemporary world. Cheuk’s paintings have been exhibited in several prominent Ink Painting exhibitions, including Ink Global in 2017, Ink Asia in 2015 and 2016, Senses – Exhibition of works by young emerging HK artists in 2015, and HK Chinese Meticulous Painting Association Joint Exhibition in 2013.
